Relief Valves
Frequently Asked Questions

What Type(s) of relief valves does Hawk manufacture?

Hawk Machine Works manufactures custom CNC machined relief (pop) valves that range in diameter from 1/2 in. NPT to 1 in. NPT. Our relief valves are machined out of 316 stainless steel or carbon steel. Stainless steel and carbon steel are corrosion resistant and possess high mechanical strength. Hawk provides standard hex sizes between 7/8 in. to 1-3/8 in. in diameter. Our 1-3/8 in. model has a 1/4 in. side port option.

Hawk’s relief valves use stainless steel and Inconel springs for internal components. These materials, along with our design, aid in resealing a relief valve after pressure is discharged. Our pressure relief valves range in pressure ratings from 150 PSI to 2500 psi. Use Hawk’s pressure relief valves in various industries, including oil and gas, facilities, hydro, and mining.
